Premier Group was founded by Andrew Woosnam and Shawn Donovan in 2000. They were both highly successful recruitment consultants and have over 20-years combined experience in the IT recruitment industry. The Premier Group team has grown organically since launch, and now comprises of over 40 consultants based in Reading and London.
Andrew was born in Portsmouth and moved to Reading after studying at University in Southampton. He got into recruitment in 1995, starting out as a contract consultant for a local company, where he went on to become top salesman. He left in June 2000 to set up Premier, starting the business from scratch. Focusing on the day to day running of the business, including finance, Andrew also looks after technology and organises staff training.
Shawn was born in Plymouth and attended The University of Birmingham where he graduated with a 2i degree in Civil Engineering. Moving to Reading in '96 Shawn took a job with a local IT Recruitment specialist starting life as a Candidate Resourcer. Within 3 years, Shawn became one of the top performers running a company all time best of 40 contractors. In 2000 Shawn made the move to Premier and now wears many hats, acting as Team Manager, Recruitment Manager and Director. He sees his biggest challenge as finding the best potential recruiters in the marketplace.
Ben was born in Manchester and attended the University of Birmingham to study Computer Science and Business. He first got into recruitment in Birmingham again where he started life as a trainee consultant working on the Contracts team for a large IT Recruitment Company. He went on to manage Recruitment offices in Leeds and Reading before discovering Premier Group in April 2006. Initially employed to develop and build the contracts team, Ben went on to open the London office in April 2007. Following solid and profitable growth of this business Ben was promoted to become a Director of Premier London in April 2008. His day to day role involves the operational running and growth of the London business.
