Embedded Software Engineer - Reading, Berkshire - £28,000 to £30,000 P/A + benefits
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a world leading organisation with a first class reputation in the audio and video industry. The Embedded Software will join the product group, and work on projects to increase the range of products requiring control and configuration.
The Embedded Software Engineer will product designs which typically include control and monitoring of video and audio processing and distribution equipment , embedded real-time control to tight timing constraints, network communications, high speed signal routing and user interface design.
Embedded Software Engineer - Responsibilities:
* Specification and design of time critical control and monitoring application ranging from low-level device driver development to high level service application with complex business logic
* Software coding using predominantly C++ and RTOS
* Testing and validation of own and common code
* Documentation of work and test results
* Contribution to framework and protocol design process
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree qualified in a relevant Embedded Software or Computer Sciences discipline
* Embedded C and C++
* Object Oriented Design - OOD
* Real Time, interrupt driven processing
* STL Knowledge
Desirable Skills:
* On Time Embedded OS - RTOS
* C# .Net
* Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams
* Audio Processing
* Network signal routing and processing
* SQL Database knowledge
* SNMP
* Embedded Control (single chip controllers, IP and Serial Comms etc)
* Protocols
* Debug Hardware
