JOB - Product Designer

LOCATION - Swansea

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £28,000 - £38000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)

My client – an innovative Product Design company operating within the consumer hand held device industry is looking for a talented Product Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Swansea.

The Product Designer will ideally have the following attributes:


  • A degree level education or alternate qualification equivalent in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering(BEng, BSc, HND, HNC, NVQ etc).
  • Preferably 1-2 years' worth of Product Design experience, preferably within the Electro-Mechanical Devices
  • Confidence in the use of 3D CAD and FEA; SolidWorks is preferable.
  • An established portfolio, outlining and detailing innovative concepts.
  • The desire to grow into an industry leading organisation, with a large international client base
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
The Product Designer’s duties will involve:

  • Being involved in concept design through to production
  • Producing 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and prototypes within an engineering environment.
  • Selection of appropriate materials for a range of precision manufacturing processes.
  • Working within the existing Engineering team, developing an understanding of the product range to contribute effectively to Design work.
  • Meeting deadlines effectively to deliver on continued growth and success.
